Havelian

Pakistan

At the foot of the Himalayas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Havelian sits along the Karakoram Highway — the old Silk Route — where ancient caravans once stopped at the mansions and caravanserais that gave the town its name. Pakistan Railway's northernmost station is here, making it a transit point into the Hazara region. The surrounding hills turn green after summer rains, and winters bring snow to the Galiat mountains visible from the valley.
