Gwacheon
South Korea
Just south of Seoul on Line 4, Gwacheon is home to several major attractions commonly assumed to belong to the capital: Seoul Grand Park, Seoul Land, the National Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Gwacheon National Science Museum all sit within the city. Developed as a planned city in the 1980s and 1990s to absorb government offices relocated from Seoul, it also houses a major government complex, with mountains forming its borders on multiple sides.
