A compact town in the Hérault department of Occitanie, Ganges sits at the confluence of three rivers — the Hérault, the Rieutord, and the Vis — with a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size. Vineyards in the surrounding area place it in wine-growing country, and a Dominican convent-turned-château crowns the upper town. The surrounding canton includes a Natura 2000 site covering the gorges of Rieutord, Fage, and Cagnasse.
