Fontaine-de-Vaucluse
Vaucluse · France
The spring at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse is the largest resurgent spring in France and ranks among the most significant in the world by annual flow, feeding the River Sorgue in a narrow valley whose Latin name, vallis clausa, means "closed valley." This small Provençal village sits right on the water, with cafés and restaurants along the riverbank and vineyards in the surrounding countryside.
