Ely
White Pine County · United States
Founded as a stagecoach station on the Pony Express and Central Overland Route, Ely is a little county seat in the mountains of White Pine County, Nevada, that later boomed on copper mining after an 1906 discovery. The heritage railway preserved by the Nevada Northern Railway — known as the Ghost Train of Old Ely — is the town's most distinctive draw. Ely is also the birthplace of former First Lady Pat Nixon.
