El Toboso, a wine-producing village in Toledo province, is best known as the fictional hometown of Dulcinea, the beloved of Don Quixote in Cervantes's novel. The village retains the architectural character typical of La Mancha — stone and rammed-earth buildings with whitewashed walls, wooden-galleried courtyards, and cobbled floors — alongside several historic churches for a settlement of its size.
