Officially known as Oranienstadt Dillenburg, this Hessian town in central Germany sits on the Dill river in hilly terrain and carries a strong association with the House of Orange-Nassau. It lies along the German-Dutch Orange Route, which links towns connected to that dynasty, as well as the German Timber-Frame Road and the Rothaarsteig long-distance hiking trail, making it a natural stop for walkers and road-trippers moving between Germany and the Netherlands.
