Coquimbo
Coquimbo · Chile
Port city on Chile's Pacific coast, Coquimbo sits on a triangular peninsula in the Coquimbo Region, with a natural bay that shelters one of the region's working harbours. It forms a continuous urban area with neighbouring La Serena to the north, and its wider commune takes in coastal villages — including Tongoy and Guanaqueros — known for their beaches and resort facilities. The old sector of the city occupies a narrow strip of land above the bay.
