Clunes

Hepburn · Australia

Clunes, a tiny Victorian town north of Ballarat, was the site of Victoria's first registered gold discovery in 1850 and has since reinvented itself as a booktown, hosting an annual Booktown Festival since 2007 with over ten book shops around the town. The original Mad Max (1979) filmed scenes here, notably at the Creswick Creek Bridge. A Wesley College campus also operates in the town.
