Ciovo
Croatia
A hilly Adriatic island in central Dalmatia, Čiovo closes off the Kaštela Bay and holds several historic religious monuments — including the monastery of Sv. Križa on the northeastern coast and the monastery of Sv. Ante — alongside beaches, tiny bays, and a scattering of islets. The Okrug Riviera on the western shore, just a short distance from the centre of Trogir, is the island's most visited stretch, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
