Chat Trakan
Thailand
This little town in Phitsanulok province's northernmost district sits near mountains and water, with a modest café and restaurant scene in its centre. Chat Trakan is the only district in the province that shares a border with Laos, and the area is known in Thai history as the site of the Rom Klao battle, a brief military confrontation between Thailand and Laos.
