Challapampa
Bolivia
This pocket-sized hamlet on the northern tip of Isla del Sol sits on the shores of Lake Titicaca high in the Bolivian altiplano, within walking distance of the Inca ruins at Chinkana. The island itself was a sacred site in the Inca world, and Challapampa serves as a base for exploring it, with a handful of cafés and restaurants for a settlement of its size. Copacabana, the nearest town, is a short boat ride away.
