Bueng Khong Long
Thailand
This district in northeastern Thailand's Bueng Kan province built around the Bueng Khong Long reservoir, created in the 1980s under a royal initiative by King Bhumibol Adulyadej to support local farming and biodiversity. The reservoir's wetlands serve as a stopover for migrating birds and a spawning ground for fish, making the waterside the main draw for visitors to the area.
