Bobbio

Piacenza · Italy

Founded around the Abbey of San Colombano in 614, Bobbio is a medieval village in the Trebbia River valley in Piacenza province, with a historic centre that has kept its medieval character largely intact. Its most recognisable feature is the Ponte Vecchio — also called the Ponte Gobbo or Ponte del Diavolo — a Romanesque stone bridge crossing the Trebbia on eleven irregular arches. The village sits right on the river, has several historic churches, and is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia.
