Mediterranean coastal town in Morocco's Al Hoceïma Province, Bni Bouayach sits along the main road connecting Al Hoceïma and Nador, with the Rif mountains close to the south. Its population is of Riffian-Berber (Amazigh) origin, and the town has been a centre of political activism, with significant protest movements in 2011–2013 following earlier unrest during the 1958–1959 Rif uprising.
