Blatná Castle, a moated water castle set within a landscape garden, is the centrepiece of this small South Bohemian town in Czechia's Strakonice District. The historic town centre, which includes the castle complex, is protected as an urban monument zone and is well preserved. A tiny cluster of cafés and restaurants serves the central core, and the town sits at the confluence of two streams where the Lomnice river begins, with forested hills rising to the north.
