Balzar
Ecuador
A town on the left bank of the Río Daule in Ecuador's Guayas province, Balzar — also known as San Jacinto de Balzar — sits at the centre of the country's coastal lowlands on a broad flat plain with a warm tropical climate. Its roots go back to the colonial era, though sustained growth came in the mid-19th century driven by agricultural production; farming, cattle-raising, and trade remain the town's main economic activities today.
