Anloga, in southeast Ghana's Volta Region, serves as the traditional, ancestral, and spiritual capital of the Anlo Ewe people and the seat of the Awormefia of Anlo State, giving it a ceremonial significance that sets it apart from other towns in the region. It sits east of the Volta River and just south of the Keta Lagoon, putting open water within easy reach.
