Pocket-sized town in southeastern Morocco's Drâa-Tafilalet region, Alnif is known for significant paleontological discoveries and sits on the N12 highway connecting Tinejdad and Taouz, on the edge of the Sahara. A modest central core offers cafés and restaurants for travellers passing through this remote corner of the country, roughly a long drive east of Ouarzazate and close to the Algerian border.
