Accrington, a Lancashire town in the Hyndburn borough, is known for two unlikely distinctions: the Haworth Art Gallery holds Europe's largest collection of Tiffany glass, and local brickworks produced the dense "Accrington NORI" bricks used in the foundations of the Empire State Building and Blackpool Tower. The surrounding Pennine moors offer open upland walking, and the town's football club, Accrington Stanley, was one of the twelve founding members of the English Football League.
